Week 8 (S2)

This week has not been good for me.
I got some results for HCI and programming back and im not happy.
I kicked ass in the programming and i only got 43 because i didn't do it "her way".
And HCI was 53 for assignment 1 and 10 for assignment 2.
It's been a really hard week for me....
atleast i have easter holidays now and can get sum serious work done for my assignments

Week 7 (S2)

Ok so my third golden week hasn't gone as planned.... in other words i failed. I was actually really close. I was going well up untill thursday when i ran into.... Linda.
Linda is most probably my worst influence. When i go out with her i drink an excessive amount of alcohol and she also likes to take the odd clss off.
Hence my golden stride coming to an end.
Other than that it was a pretty much normal week

Week 6 (S2)

It is the end of my week 6 now.
I have had a few exams this week and most of them went well.
I aced the programming and web development exams but the maths test didn't go so well. Apart from that it has been a good week. Oh and i am 1 class away from completing my second golden week.
I think i might go for a third one next week.

Week 5 (S2)

This week i have decided to cop the hell on. I plan on having a golden week. For those of you out there who do not know what a golden week is it's when you go to every class, every day, on time for a whole week. It may sound like an easy thing but trust me its not.
I have also finished a few assignments and i have exams coming up next week.

It's the end of the week now and I would just like to say I DID IT!!! a full week without missing any class. That tuesday Web development is terrible because there is a 2 hour break before it is so tempting to go home at three instead of 6.

Week 4 (S2)

In my 4th week in semester 2 im starting to get assignments and projects now. I'm really looking forward to the easter break. It feels like i've been here for way longer than just a month. My attendence hasn't been great either so i really have to start going to all my classes instead of going home early. I've got alot to catch up on and the easter break will give me a chance to do that. Untill then im just hanging in there in terms of the course work. The podcasts in Web Development are a godsend as i missed a few of those classes already.

Week 3 (S2)

Now in week three we are really getting into the swing of things. We have been put into our electives and i chose HCI. Its not the subject that i thought it was going to be. Its all about the design aspect of programmes and nothing to do with the coding of them. Programming fundamentals is only going more in depth with Visual Basic. Web development is actually alot better than i thought it would be.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to go out as much as I would like because ive run out of money so i don't have much to write about outside of what i do in CIT.

Week 2 (S2)

Week 2 is starting to show me what im in for this semester.
Routing is probably the hardest subject that i have this semester. I barely passed networking and now i have to go even deeper into the protocols aspect of things.
Hardware isn't as bad as i was expecting and is turning out to be pretty interesting.
The week is going by slowly but i don't expect it to be going quickly when it's still at the beginning of the semester.

Week 1 (S2)

This is my first post since semester 1.
Im back in cit now for semester 2. It's been pretty easy so far but thats just because its the first week and we arent doing much except talking about what we are going to do for the rest of the semester.

On Mondays I dont have to come in untill 11 so i have a bit of a before having to drive up. I could have stayed an extra hour though because our lecturer didn't turn up untill an hour into our class!!! Finished at 6 and headed home.

Tuesday is kind of a shit day because we are starting at six and we aren't finished untill 6. Basically a boring day. Didn't do much for the day.

Wednesday we didn't have class untill 1 because our 10 o clock class was cancelled. Just had programming and HCI to do and the got to go home.

Now it's thursday and so far the day is ok. Will update the blog next week.

Week 10

Monday I did alot of work for my CIT module and finished the majority of my part of the project.

Tuesday was just a usual day. Nothing special happened. Just went into college and back home.

Wednesday was much the same. I finished my Networking assignment and got that handed up.

Thursday I pressed stop on my alarm instead of snooze so i ended up sleeping in untill about 11. It wasn't too bad though because I don't have any classes in the labs on thursday mornings. Still had to come in for my algorithmics class though. Came in for that and dropped Linda back to her apartment on the other side of the city because she would be all day trying to get over there with buses because of the floods. Dropped another couple of people off in glanmire after that and on my way out of glanmire found that the only road i knew was flooded..... which is why i spent 45 minutes getting to a road that could be reached in 30 secs by some one who actually knew where they were.

On Friday i didn't go into college because i had my driving test in mallow. I passed. Happy out. After that i just drove around for the whole day with the lads hoping to come across a checkpoint just so i could say I have a full license..... didn't come across them all day.

Saturday I didn't do much. Just met up with the lads for a while and went drinkin at 1 of their places. Bit of a shit night but i was happy with the end result;)

Sunday I just stayed in bed for most the day and drove around for a small bit bedfore going to bed again.

Week 9

Monday was the usual thing. We had a CIT meeting in the morning to discuss how we were going with our clues for the online treasure hunt. Did some work on my programming assignment aswell which is proving to be harder than I expected.

Tuesday was just a long ass day as usual. It was so dam hard to get up in the morning and actually get into college.

Wednesday I didn't come in untill 2 because my alarm went off and after i turned it off i blinked..... 3 hours had passed during this blink.

Thursday was much the same as every other day in college. Do the work and go home. Did a good bit og work in our Algorithmics assignment though. Im working with Steve and he has a really good idea for a tank game and we are working on the programming side of things now.

Friday I didn't come into college because I had to go to Mallow to do driving lessons for my test this Friday. After that I just went driving around with a few of the lads for the day.

Saturday I didn't plan on doin much. I was on my way home at about 7 when i got a phone call. Turned out i was going to a house party...... should have gone home. I didn't drink alot but for some reason what i did drink ripped the shit out ov my stomach and by the end of the night there was blood everywhere!!! Probably should have ate something before going out.

Sunday was spent dying in bed.

Week 8

Last Monday wasn't anything special. Although we had a CIT class in the morning where we were able to sort out meeting times for our group and learn how to keep minutes of the meeting and things like that.

On Tuesday I just went to college and back home after. Tuesdays are an okay day of the week because it is all lectures besides 1 programming class in the lab.

Wednesday is the worst day as we are in from 10 to 6 with only an hour break in between and it is all lectures!!

Thursday is all lectures aswell but not as long a day as wednesday. Just did the usual work and went home after.

Friday I slept in and nearly missed my CIT meeting but made it in just before 10 so all was good. We had our first meeting and decided on what our treasure hunt phrase should be and what would be at the end of it.

Saturday I didn't get up to much but went to the cinema that night to see that Michael Jackson thing. Not really my type of movie but it was alright.
Sunday I just spent the day in bed.

Week 7

Monday was the usual craic. Into college and back home to my bed.

Tuesday was much the same except we had a CIT class where our group sat down and discussed all the clues. We found out that the phase did make sense if you speak french. It was the french translation for GPS.

Wednesday our first class was cancelled so i got 2 spend an extra hour in bed. Other than that it was just an ordinary day.

Thursday I couldn't get to college because the guy i get a lift with decided he was staying in bed for the day. I still managed to get upto the city later that night to go out though. I went out to Eden Hall to one of the lads gaff before we headed out to Cubins. Some of the costumes were brilliant but i just didn't bother dressing up.

Friday was just the usual day again.

I didn't do much on Saturday but I went out to a halloween party in a pub with a few friends. Had a good laugh and the best thing is I didn't have a hangover on Sunday. Still spent most the day in bed though.

Week 6

Monday we did alot of work to do with the online treasure hunt for our CIT module. Me and Steve have finished our part to do with it but some words aren't fitting in. Besides that it was just a usual day of college.

Tuesday was spent the same. Went to college and got home and went to bed.

Wednesday is the longest day of the week for me because I'm in at 10 and out at 6 with only an hour break in between the lot. So after that i just went home again.

Thursday was the best day of last week. I got in at 9 and met up with a few of the lads from my class to wait for the rest of the people to go paintballing. At around 10 we began to relise that half the people that were meant to show up weren't coming at all. In the end only 11 of us showed up. We got in our cars and headed for Watergrasshill to where the paintballing was on. Only two of us actually knew the way though. We got there in the end anyway and it was some laugh! Theres no better way to get to know your class mates then to shoot the crap out of eachother. After the paintballing we went home to get ready to go out that night. I went to one of the girl's apartment and started drinking there as I do every night before I go out. We then got the bus to Btown Bar and had a few drinks there before moving on to Gorby's. In the end I didn't see anyone from my class but still had a good night.

Friday I just went home and drove around with a few of the lads for the day.

Saturday and Sunday were 2 of the most boring days of my life as i did nothing what so ever.

Week 5

The start of the week was the usual craic. Into college and back home after. Didn't do much for the day after that.

On Tuesday i decided to head out for the night. Although I never actually made it to the club. Started drinkin at a friends apartment and the place was packed. She invited way too many people over but we were lucky because half of them didn't show up. I can't even remember leaving the apartment but the lads say I got out the door and droped my fone (which would explain the chunk missing out of one corner) and from there we went to the bus stop to get a bus into town. In the end only 2 of us were lazy enough to wait around for the bus. The rest walked in. Anyway the bus came and we went into town and decided that we were too drunk to go to the club so we spent the night in McDonalds. Next thing I know im waking up on the couch.... good night was had.

Wednesday I spent most the day in the city and trying not to stare at anything too bright or get near loud noises.... for obvious reasons. Got a lift home from one of the lads and just went to bed.

Thursday was a quiet night for once and I just went to college and back home.

Friday was spent much the same.

Saturday we thought it would be a good idea to go out in Michelstown....... never again!!
The pub was really nice but it was full of Michelstown people (as it would be) and for the record im a Fermoy person. Now if you know of the two towns then you know that there is a costant hate between the two. There is kind of an unspoken rule where Fermoy people don't go out in Michelstown and Michelstown people don't go out in Fermoy..... I broke that rule. One asshole learnt of this and tried starting on me. The night would have been more fun if his friends didn't hold him back. I then got kicked out.... because im from Fermoy. Then the langer came up talking to my friends outside supermacs and apparently had no memory of what had happened inside. At that point I was too pissed off to even go to the club so i just went home.

Sunday I just spent the day driving around with the lads.

Week 4

Starting off monday was as boring as any normal day in college. When i got home i got new speakers for my car and spent the night at a friends who helped me put them in. The two front speakers went in perfect with tweeters and all. But it turns out the ass in Halfords gave me the wrong kind of wire for my back speakers. I had to make do with the front ones for a few days.

Tuesday was much the same. Went to college... then went home nd spent the rest ov the day smoking and relaxing on the couch.

On Wednesday there was a protest organised against bringing in fees for college. We went to class as normal in the morning and at 11 we went to the student centre to meet up and get t-shirts for the protest. When everything was ready we started making our way from CIT and went to UCC. We were roaring for a while on their campus and walked from there into the city center. We even got hold of Bat's number and we all txt him 'No fees!!'. When the protest was over we hit the pubs. We stayed there for a good bit and then we went home to get changed and headed out to the clubs. All in all it was one of the best laughs ever. And it worked. Fees are being abolished!!!

Thursday was an ordinary day again. Just went to college and headed home after. I was going to go out but I was way to tired from the night before.

Friday was much the same except after college I went and got the right wire for my back speakers and went to my friends gaff to wire them up. It's only aq fiesta and looks terrible but atleast I can listen to good music.

Saturday night I went to a house party in Fermoy and I can't even remember most of that night. Sunday was spent in recovery.

Week 3

This week was the first years freshers week. On Monday we had a comedian in the student center. He had the crowd laughing for the whole thing. On Monday night i decided not to go out because I was too tired. Kinda regret it now though.

On Tuesday we had a magician at the college. He was more of a comedian though. He did magic tricks but in the funniest way possible. On Tuesday night there was a traffic light disco on so I went to a friends house and got ready there and we started drinking round 8 and headed out to the club at about half 10. The place was packed!! I could barely move in there but i didnt care because i was too drunk. Me and Linda stayed around the city for hours after it and got in the door at about half 4 and went to sleep at half 6..... which is why i wasn't in on Wednesday.

On Wednesday I spent most the day in bed and walked around the city for a while. By time i got back it was time to get ready again. Didnt start drinking untill 10 that night but I was still flaming by time we hit the club. That was the night of the silent disco in the maradyke. If anyone wants you to ever go to a silent disco..... say no... just go to cubins or something. The headphone disco was shit!! We left after about half an hour and went to Gorby's. Then we went somewhere else but the night goes blurry at this point. I remember being outside hillbilly's though....

Thursday was spent much the same. That night we had the fresher's ball. Didnt get to the club untill about 12 because me and Linda were having to much of a laugh drinking with our neighbours at the apartment. Cubins was actually a good laugh. Anything is as long as your drunk like.

Friday was spent on the couch recovering and i went home around 10. Pretty boring day...

Saturday i went to a house party in Kilworth. Didn't know half the people there but it was still fun. Once again... Me+Drink=Good night.
Sunday was spent recovering. Not much else to do on Sundays.

Week 2

Week 2 in CIT was a little more like what college is meant to be. We did more work in our classes instead of just going through the basics of what we will be doing for the year. We did a good bit of work in programming using Visual Basic and algorithmic problem solving using Alice. Both of these programmes are useful tools for people starting out in software development as they are easy to use and teach the person using them as they progress with it.

This week was also used to sign up to any societies within CIT that appeals to you. I joined up to the paintball society and the karting society. I have my first meeting for paintball today.

The weekend for me wasn't as exciting as last weekend but was still a good laugh. On Friday I didn't do much but i went out in Fermoy on Saturday night and there were 18ths on all over town so a few of us went on a pub crawl..... Sunday was once again used for recovery...

First Week

The first day of cit was a bit confusing. I hadn't a clue where any of my classes were meant to be and ended up wandering around the place asking random people where the rooms are. You would think that a third year student would be able to tell me but half of them were just as lost as i was. College so far has been a good experience. I'm making new friends and going out in the city is a good laugh. For the first week we didn't do much work because we are still new to the whole thing. Most of our classes were spent talking about what we are going to be doing for the rest of the year.

My first weekend at college went even better. On Friday night I went to a house party in the backarse of nowhere!!! All I remember is that it ws somewhere near Ballyduff. Bout 200 or 300 people showed up. The place was hopping!! Marques everywhere and bbq's were on the whole night. It died down around 5 in the morning when people started falling asleep in any spot they could find. There were tents all over the garden and half of them were collapsed with people still in them. The night in all was brilliant although it gets bit blurry from 2...

I went out in the city for the first time on Saturday and ended up drinking a bit too much. Started out in one of the lads apartment and walked into the city from there. I can't even remember what pub we went to and the walk to the club is just gone from my memory. The three I was with got into the club but I got pulled out of the que and told that I was too drunk to get in. He told me to go to McDonalds and get a coffee and come back to try again. Linda and Wayne came back out to me and we went off to McDonalds to get a coffee. Now I personally can't remember this but aparently I fell asleep inside and Wayne was smacking me to wake me up.... but I wouldn't. Then they said a bouncer came over and picked me up and shook me untill I woke up. After that my memory kicks in again and I was sitting outside when 3 girls came over to me asking me if I was ok. Now I don't know how but one of them knew my name but I can't figure out who she was. Then my memory went again and I remember getting out of a taxi and going into the apartment and collapsing on the bed. All in all it was a dam good night..... Sunday was spent recovering.
